Anatomy Lessons – Artist Talk

Join us for another fascinating Friends in Focus talk at Otago Museum with artist Michele Beevors, Principal Lecturer in Sculpture at Dunedin School of Art, for an in-depth discussion of her incredible new exhibition on display at Otago Museum.

Anatomy Lessons speaks to the sad splendour and sorrowful realities of species loss and extinction. Scientific observation and a sculptor’s eye for form combine in large-scale skeletons of animals knitted with exacting detail. Hear from Michelle about the lengthy process that led to the creation of these amazing knitted sculptures and the significant relationship she has developed with each of the animals on display.

Beevors is Principal Lecturer in Sculpture at Dunedin School of Art. She lives in Aramoana, New Zealand.
