ACVC: Beach Volleyball Training + Social

Auckland Central Volleyball Club presents the 2022-2023 Summer Series of Beach Volleyball!

TRAINING
Improve your sand skills with beach volleyball training sessions! These workshops are ideal for those with some experience in indoor or beach volleyball of any age/gender that want to make sure they cover all their bases and hone their skills.

NOTE: Basic indoor volleyball handling skills is a pre-requisite.

4:00pm - 6:00pm: Youths*
6:00pm - 8:00pm: Adults

Our 10 topics selected to go through all the basic skills involved in two-a-side beach volleyball, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the game - Hopefully having some fun while we’re at it! :)
To get the most complete coverage of the game, you should plan to attend at least one session a week over 10 consecutive weeks.

Each session with Jo Waller and Dani (+helpers) costs...

ADULTS - $25 per session or $200 for 10 session concession.
YOUTH - $20 per session or $150 for 10 session concession.

..and will include a combination of:
warm up/physical exercise, explanation & practice of that weeks skill focus topic, relevant tactics and games.

A different skill focus topic will be covered each week, with each session in a week covering variations of the topic.
Session topics focus on what happens in beach volleyball that differs from indoor volleyball. The main skill focus topics covered include:
-- Serving and ball control in the wind
-- Passing & overall game concepts
-- Setting and transition setting
-- Block pulling
-- Attacking shots
-- Court awareness
-- Defence
-- The tricky bits and tactics
-- Practice games

*Due to low numbers, youth sessions are currently on hold. Please PM if interested and as soon as we have a minimum of 4 players we will be back!

SOCIAL
Show up to play! A minimum of 4 people are required.
If you are interested in playing from 4PM and you have a group of friends with you (min 4 total) please PM so we can go early and set a net up for you :)

- Registration essential, numbers strictly limited.
- Walk ups only accepted if space is available, and proof of payment provided ($30 for Adults, $25 for Youth)
- Registration closes ~12 hours prior to the event to ensure numbers are met.
- Event is weather dependent & final decision on cancellation will be made on the day based on current conditions & forecast.
