39th Woodbourne Half Marathon & Fun Runs

The Woodbourne Half Marathon run, walk or a hybrid is a 21k event around the local area, through vineyards and along backcountry roads.
There is also a small section across farm tracks which includes a slight climb. The rest of the course is mainly flat.
There are normally around 100 runners, 20 social walkers and 30 in the hybrid. The entry fee is $30 with a late fee of $10 after 11 Aug

The 10k and 5k fun runs are off-road around the perimeter of a vineyard. The 10k is two loops of the 5k course. This course can be a bit muddy if there has been a lot of rain in the preceding weeks. These are social events on a relatively safe course, well away from any traffic.
The entry fee is $10 for the 10k and $5 for the 5k. There is no late entry fee

The Half Marathon walk and hybrid start at 9 am. The Half Marathon Run starts at 10 am. The 5k and 10k fun runs start at 10:15 am.

Entries are via Eventfinda or Entry Forms will be available from Mitchell Sports Power.
Entries Close on 11 Aug.
Late entries will be taken on the day from 7:30 am until 30 minutes prior to event's start.

Course
The half Marathon is run over a measured one-lap circuit (NB. this is not a registered course). The course is a circuit along vineyard tracks, then up Brancott Road, across Wrekin Road and down Brookby Road

The course encompasses some of the region's vineyards.
The course consists of both sealed and unsealed roads and is reasonably flat apart from a small hill at the top of Wrekin Road (see map on Woodbourne Half Marathon Facebook page).

The area of the course over the Wrekin is private land and is not open to public use except for this event.
The start and finish will be opposite the Woodbourne Gymnasium, cnr of Caldwell Road and S.H. 6

Aid Stations
Water will be available at 5km, 10km, 15km, 18km and at the finish. A portaloo will be positioned at the 10km aid station.

Conditions.
The weather can be quite variable at this time of year. Entrants should be prepared for a temperature range of 5 to 15 degrees and the possibility of a cold crosswind and rain.
Facilities
Toilet, shower and changing facilities are available at the Start/Finish.

Prizegiving
Spot prizes will be awarded upon finishing. There will not be a prize-giving function.

Registration on 14 August
The Woodbourne Community Centre will be open for registration and late entries from 7:30 am till 09.45 am.

Start times
9 am Half Marathon Walk and Hybrid.
10 am Half Marathon Run.
10:15am 5 & 10 km Fun Run/walk.
Fun runs are completely off-road. The same course as 2021, i.e. no fence to cross, no road running and it goes anti-clockwise.
Half marathon crosses SH 6 at Vineyard entry gates only, both on the way out and return. The half marathon course no longer uses Godfrey Road but returns through the vineyard road.
All courses start and finish on the grass playing field on the corner of SH6 and Caldwell Road. They then cross into the vineyard behind the Argosy
5k & 10k fun runs are off-road. 10k is two laps of the 5k course
Half Marathon entries close 12 August 2021. Late entries will be accepted up till 8:30 am on the day for the Walk and Hybrid and 9:15 am for the run. An additional fee of $10.00 will be imposed on late entries.
Online entries via Eventfinda will incur a non-refundable booking fee of $5.
10km and 5km Fun Runs Entries are accepted up to 9:45 am on the day of the event. No late fee for Fun Runs.

Hybrid Race This means you can do a combination of walking and running over the length of the half marathon. This is a social event, so there are no placing prizes. If your expected time for the run is more than two hours, please enter the Hybrid.

Please note that dogs are not permitted on the vineyard or farmland.
