Worn with Sometime Winner: CANCELLED
8 Bank Street, Dunedin, OtagoRestrictions

Vorn and his band are heading south for a very special two-night residency at the end of Bank Street in Dunedin. They are playing at Inch Bar on Friday 1st of October with support from Sometime Winner and at ADJO on Saturday 2nd of October with support from Porpoise. Because of the small size of these venues the shows will be intimate and tickets will be very limited.
Vorn Colgan has pumped out 8 albums since 1999 and, despite a terminal cancer diagnosis in 2019, is still going. The line-up of Vorn’s band has changed over the last two decades, morphing slowly into the three-piece unit of Thomas Liggett on Violin, Nick Brown on Drums, and Vorn on Guitar, Keyboard and Foot-pedal Bass.
Vorn’s music has been described as “.. fair brimming with wry observational humour, smart social commentary, and the usual Vorn-sized portions of self-deprecation.” by Mike Hollywood and Simon Sweetman raved, “Colgan's deft skill is in singing about today; actual social commentary. And, of course, in making it all tuneful and witty and so much more than the obvious joke that is often in the title.”
Vorn continues to play gigs and write new songs. The difficult 9th album (working title: “I Hope I Finish This Album Before I Die”) is due to be released… sometime in the future. Hopefully.
Sometime Winner is a cosmic mix of local noise and old school sounds, bringing together dancy tunes and emotion-drenched lyrics, so in that sense it’s kind of a cosmic gumbo. A five-piece indie rock crew that puts the “fun” back in “live show with bands playing” these guys will leave you writhing in your shoes!
Like gigs at full volume? Head to Inch Bar on Fri 1 Oct at 8 Bank Street. Like things a bit more mellow? Check out the listing for the next night at ADJO for something more stripped back. Both gigs will be intimate and very special.
