An Association of Friends of the Otago Museum Talk
Join Otago Museum’s natural science curator Emma Burns for a talk about the nature of behind-the-scenes work caring for and preparing the different specimens that make up the natural science collections for research and display.
Emma is responsible for generating and overseeing all Museum content featuring natural science themes. Emma liaises access to the collection and work with scientists and historians. A large part of her day is researching and annotating specimens, cleaning skeletons, and preparing specimens for display or storage.
Collections is the core of the Museum, and Emma's role is a fascinating one. Come along to this talk and her day-to-day experience working with wildlife as a natural science curator.
