Join Bill Morris, writer, filmmaker, and musician as he presents stories and images on New Zealand’s Subantarctic Islands. Bill tells stories of the wild landscape, the abundant wildlife, and what makes him want to return there in this evocative talk.
Bill spent the summer of 2015 – 2016 filming the wildlife of Enderby Island for the TVNZ series Our Big Blue Backyard, and has subsequently travelled to the Auckland Islands several times in winter to film the southern right whales that gather to breed there, most recently for the BBC Natural History Unit. He has also worked in the Bounty Islands, the most remote and rarely-visited island of New Zealand's Subantarctic region.
Bill’s work with international documentary makers has taken him around the world, but his true passion is working in New Zealand's natural environment, especially the Subantarctic region.
