Come along, have fun and make some art!
Held every weekend (and weekdays during the school holidays), Whānau drop-ins are free, family-focused, art-making workshops designed for families to get creative together.
The workshops offer you the chance to get hands-on with activities inspired to our current exhibition, Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art.
Every week is a new activity, so make it part of your weekly routine!
Drop-in Activities
Sat 20 Mar – Sun 21 Mar: Weaving a felt bag
Inspired by traditional flax kete and learning simple weaving techniques to make a small bag of your own using coloured felt and mixed materials.
Sat 27 Mar – Sun 28 Mar: Porotiti spinning disks
Learn to make porotiti inspired by the taonga pūoro or traditional Māori instrument and many artworks in Toi Tū Toi Ora.

Sat 10 Apr – Sun 11 Apr: Clothes pin monsters
