Painting outside, on location working from real life. Feel the breeze, smell the salt air, listen to the waves.
Now that sounds fun right? What a wonderful way to learn.
Learning how to work with watercolour can seem intimidating, but like most things, once you learn some basics and negotiate the traps you will enjoy it. Soon you will find yourself working with this weird and wonderful medium that challenges so many.
These workshops are an excellent opportunity to learn watercolours. Weather permitting, we will work outside as much as possible, but we’ll usually cover off some basics in the studio first.
We currently have two watercolour workshops running now until the second week of Dec.
Tuesday afternoons from 1pm to 3:30
And Fridays all day, 9:30am to 3:30pm.
Each workshop day is listed on Eventfinda as a separate event. Find the days that will suit you. $50 per session
South Coast Studio offers a variety of art-based workshops which currently include Watercolours, Drawing Fundamentals, Perspective Drawing, Life Drawing and Sketch a Pet.
Prior experience is not required. Our classes are for everyone with an open mind, positive attitude, and willingness to laugh a little while learning.
Located on Wellington’s stunning south coast overlooking Cook Straight, our studio accommodates up to 12 people per session so it’s a social but not crowded affair.
We also host exhibitions, and our studio is available for private events and self-run workshops.
