Featherston Booktown, with help from our friends Benn and Erin of Property Brokers Featherston, are celebrating foodies on Saturday 20 November from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Anzac Hall complex – and you’re invited.

If you’re in this camp, you need to be with the seriously tasty food producers we have in the Wairarapa at our indoor Artisan Food Fair. Our stall holders will cater for every moment of your eating day – from breakfast with the WildChix muesli team, the naturally sweetest local apple juice, Kombucha, honey, coffee beans roasted 14 minutes away, mushrooms and award-winning olive oil. Nibble on the best hot dogs in the valley, supplied by BavariaNZ. To add to your experience there will be near new cook books, at remarkable prices, for you to browse, local calendars from talented photographer Pete Monk, and a couple of country raffles.

Everyone loves a country raffle and thanks to our super generous food stallholders, who have donated their products, we will have a couple of baskets full of goodies, and cookbooks for you to win. All proceeds from the Foodies for the Featherston Foodbank raffle will go to the Featherston Foodbank, run by Featherston's Own Charity Shop.

With less than 50 shopping days until Christmas, this Artisan Food Fair will offer solutions for hard to buy for friends and family as well as your like-minded friends.

This is a free event, held in a venue large enough to enable social distancing following Level 2 restrictions. We ask all attendees to please wear a mask and scan your COVID app or sign in for contact tracing purposes.

If there is a change of COVID level back to level 3 or 4, we will postpone this event to a later date. Keep an eye out for details on our website (booktown.nz) or our Facebook page.

At 3:00 pm in the Kiwi Hall, the fabulous Wellington-based cook and writer, Lucy Corry (The Kitchenmaid) will join Joelle Thomson, The Wine Writer, in a wide-ranging conversation about Lucy’s new book, ‘Homecooked’ – seasonal recipes for every day.

This is a ticketed event – and tickets are available on Eventfinda: https://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2021/the-kitchenmaid-and-the-wine-writer-talk-homecooked/featherston. There will be door sales.

Lucy’s new book will be available to buy from Joanna Ludbrook of Chicken and Frog Bookstore and Lucy will personally sign your book after her event.
