UN Holocaust Remembrance Day - Christchurch Public Ceremony

This is a free public commemoration acknowledging the United Nations International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and other camps.

Join us by the Peace Bell, as we come together in memory and in honour of the victims and the survivors of the Holocaust. Stand with survivors and other distinguished guests as we hear speeches & prayers, remembering not only the horrors but also the fortitude of survivors, and commit to "never again".

This is an annual worldwide commemoration with events in New Zealand in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Napier.

The Christchurch event is sponsored by and in partnership with the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO, the Christchurch City Council, Canterbury Hebrew Congregation, the NZ Peace Bell Association, and the NZ Human Rights Commission.
