Dunedin Fringe

Set in a local pub, Jim Cartwright’s timeless comedy Two features a landlord, landlady, and their colourful regulars - with all 14 characters played by Blaise and Sarah Barham.

Each character has a story to tell, sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant, always human. They include the bantering, bickering publican and his wife; the womaniser and his long-suffering girlfriend; two elderly pensioners, one who wishes her husband was dead and the other wishing his wife was alive. We also meet the 'other woman', an eccentric couple who come to the pub to eat crisps; and a lady who reveals her secret lust for 'big men'!

Auckland director John Goudge says the play takes comic twists and turns before reaching a powerful ending. Two toured in 2020 with social media audience comments: "Funny, engaging, moving & just fabulous." "I highly recommend this show. It will have you hooked from the start to the finish and take you on an emotional roller-coaster."

TWO is Sahara Breeze’s third production following The New Real? a short Verbatim play on people's Covid experiences for Renew Art 2020 and Dear Lupin, a father and son piece, which Blaise toured with his 85-year-old father in 2019. Blaise was awarded Best Leading male for his role as Francis in One Man, Two Guvnors in the Otago & Southland Theatre Awards in 2020. Sarah was awarded best supporting actress for her role as Gwen in Away directed by Lisa Warrington in 2019.
