Art, music, film, talks, beer, wine, and food. A changing programme of late-night events on the first Thursday of the month.
A kick and a punch for the first of the month. On April Fool's day, check out our latest exhibitions, 'Every Artist' and 'Marianna Simnett: CREATURE'. This month’s line-up features art on the edge, critics in conversation and live music from singer-songwriter Zoe Moon.
At 6 pm, a word and sound art performance based on the book 'High Wire' by Lloyd Jones and Euan Macleod, featuring musicians Andrew Laking and Nigel Collins.
At 7 pm, listen to art critic Lana Lopesi discuss Pacific Arts legacies, and her life and work. Lana will be in conversation with Megan Dunn, Head of Audience Engagement and Engagement, City Gallery Wellington.
At 8.30 pm a special live performance from Hawaiian born, Aotearoa bred singer-songwriter Zoe Moon, sharing her gorgeous, transfixing new single, 'Bubbles'. Zoe says of 'Bubbles', ‘It is ‘my accidental prophecy, simultaneously reflecting these strange and trying times as well as my own heart.’
Poneke-based, Zoe calls her music 'Folk R&B’, her songs explore the interpersonal nuances of identity, life and self-love. She has performed and collaborated with Deva Mahal, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Olmecha Supreme and Estère among others, she is a member of Wellington's super-group Brockaflower.
