2021 marks the 150th birthday of Ernest Rutherford, whose famous experiments led him to discover the atomic nucleus. Join us as Professor Niels Kjærgaard from the Department of Physics demonstrates how far we've come since Rutherford's work. Featuring his latest work using Otago’s ultracold "atom smasher", if anyone is going to get you excited about quantum mechanics, it's going to be Dr Kjærgaard!

Note - This event will be held in person at Level 2 with limited seating - bookings are highly encouraged to secure a spot. Email bookings@ombrellos.co.nz or phone 03-4778773.

We will also hold a Zoom version of this talk. You can register in advance on the Registration link above (the Zoom link will be emailed to you).
