The Yellow Wallpaper is a dance adaptation of the landmark feminist text from 1892, which tells the story of an unnamed narrator who is prescribed bed rest by her husband while staying at an old country estate. Through her diary entries, we follow the narrator as she eventually grows fond of her cage-like room and its garish wallpaper – before she discovers that there is another woman living inside the walls of the room.
For just three nights only, Yellow Cat Collective will perform excerpts from their sold-out Fringe Festival production of 'The Yellow Wallpaper', giving you a glimpse into the room and the life of this short story, which is just as important today as it was over a hundred years ago.
“The Yellow Wallpaper dazzles the senses with its immersive set, use of scents, poetic narration, and ethereal movement.” - Lizzie Murray, Art Murmurs
