The Mark Lockett Quartet

Wellington Jazz Club presents The Mark Lockett Quartet.

At Wellington Jazz Club's July gig on Sunday 18 July 2021 at Meow Event Venue from 5pm to 7pm, The Mark Lockett Quartet led by Mark Lockett (drums), Michael Costello (trumpet), Duncan Haynes (piano), and Umar Zakaria (bass), will perform a selection of the music of Thelonius Monk.

Drawing on his love for the music of pianist/innovator Thelonious Monk, Mark has chosen a suite of tunes for quartet. The music promises to be joyful, and to allow musicians to improvise not bound by complex harmonies.

The quartet will also be taking some requests for the second set!
