The Heartland Flyer

Travel with Steam Incorporated north from Kapiti via the spectacular Manawatu Gorge to Woodville for an easy day out. The train will be hauled by one of our restored steam locomotives and we will be using our fleet of classic red heritage carriages including our Buffet Car. Passenger stops will be Paekakariki, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Otaki, Levin, Shannon and Palmerston North.

While travelling through the Manawatu Gorge you will be able to view the large slips that have closed the highway on the opposite side of the river.

There will be a stopover at Shannon for about 45 minutes and Woodville for about 60 minutes for you to enjoy craft stalls set up by local community groups.
