Join us to hear from an expert panel about coronavirus and the COVID-19 vaccine. Have your questions answered by experts who have been instrumental in Aotearoa New Zealand’s response to COVID. For anyone curious or concerned, this free and informal session will help demystify the process behind how COVID-19 vaccines have been developed and work, and give the opportunity to ask questions about coronavirus, COVID-19, or COVID-19 vaccines.
University of Otago experts: Professor of Biochemistry Kurt Krause, Evolutionary Virologist Dr Jemma Geoghegan, Immunologist and Clinical Microbiologist James Ussher, and Public Health Epidemiologist Professor Patricia Priest will talk about their role in the COVID-19 response and help answer any questions you have about the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
Prior to the talk, Otago Museum’s Science Communicators will have a range of coronavirus and vaccination interactives available that explore the virus and its spread using state-of-the-art 3D models and demonstrate the protective power of vaccines for ourselves, our whanau, and our community.
