“If you close your eyes and walk you’ll surely not get lost, the mountain calls your name, it knows you better than you know yourself.”

In the heart of the Waitakere Ranges, Te Wao Nui O Tiriwa deep in the bush, lives The Cloud House. The Maunga, the Whenua, the Kapua that surround The Cloud House, pulls people in, nudging them towards a deeper understanding of themselves in this ‘magical’ between and betwixt time. Te Whare Kapua, The Cloud House, is a brand new play written by Miriama McDowell for Massive Theatre Company.

Tex knows how to survive all kinds of situations, but is struggling with being in the day to day, and Jai just can’t seem to find a way to slow down his brain. Millie and Hana might be twins, but they are polar opposites. And then there’s Lou, who loves her own company but longs for connection.

Te Whare Kapua features emerging artists Ngamako Rota, Sophia Mullender, Elsie Polosovai, Josiah Va’a, and Skye Kelly in this dynamic and poignant new work.

Directed by Sam Scott, this work uses physicality, music and dialogue to weave together the hearts and minds of our characters and in turn encourages you to springboard into your own experiences.

PLEASE NOTE: Our performance on the 20th of February will be signed and is Deaf-friendly. If you a Deaf patron and would like to purchase tickets, please email productions@massivecompany.co.nz
