Stainer's "Crucifixion" is an oratorio for choir, soloists and organ accompaniment that tells the story of Christ's passion and death on the cross. It is an extremely popular piece of choral music and tells the story of Christ's final days and hours, including the choir's angry shouts of "crucify him!", heartbreakingly beautiful solos reflecting on Christ's suffering and sacrifice, and hymns and choruses meditating on the Christian belief in salvation.

This performance continues St Peter's Anglican Church's annual tradition of free community Good Friday concerts.
