In addition to our regular Sunday working bees in August, we are encouraging Manawa Karioi supporters to join us and help Southern Environment Association with some planting on our boundary with Tawatawa Reserve.
In particular, we will be planting around the entrance to the new track down to Paekawakawa Reserve. There is still a fair amount of open space to plant out with hardy species (it's quite exposed to wind to say the least!) but there is also some established canopy that we can fill in with sub-canopy species like kawakawa and wharangi, and also with future canopy and emergent species like titoki, totara and rewarewa.
We will be meeting at 1pm at the top of Rhine St. Tools and gloves are supplied. For wet weather cancellations contact 0221 277 361.
