This is a NZSL interpreted version of the award-winning show Sorry For Your Loss, developed for Deaf and hearing audiences. The NZSL interpreter will be sharing the stage with writer and performer Cian Parker.
This heart-warming, funny work explores a story of growing up with a sometimes-there mostly-not Dad, and an-always there-doing-her-best Mum. This story is about the strength of a woman; and the gift of strength from one woman to another. Cian has teamed up with theatre director and dramaturg Laura Haughey, who brings her unique physical approach to the storytelling in this original, devised piece of work. Live music will accompany the performance by Andrew Duggan.
This very special performance has been developed thanks to the support of Creative New Zealand. The creative team for this interpreted version of the show are Deaf and hearing. Rachel Turner (first language NZSL) will be the Director of Interpretation, working alongside the director of the original version Laura Haughey to make this piece fully accessible for Deaf audiences.
"A moving, deftly told story… a very special type of theatre experience.” - Stuff
