The 2 May Songwriters’ Showcase features the work of three more local songwriters.
Renee Millner - Renee is recognised for her smoky, soulful voice, deliciously ambient finger picking melodies, and at time honestly heartbreaking lyrics. Her newest work, 'Out Their Windows', released on February 24, 2021 reflects the vastly different world we inhabited in 2020.
No mans heath - Fusing intricate finger style guitar with sorrowful vocals the songs of No mans heath are reminiscent of Elliott Smith, Sun Kil Moon and Nick Drake and have been described as ‘a beautiful exercise in restraint’. A truly original artist.
Grawlixes - Grawlixes are an existential folk-pop band, fwho will sear themselves in your brain with raw, wry and infectious songs about doomed relationships, not being invited to parties, and wanting to murder each other. Grawlixes’ music deals in the melancholy with self-deprecating honesty and beautiful boy-girl harmonies, sung by co-founders Robin Cederman and Penelope Esplin.
