The focus for this workshop will be: listening to and reviewing some great examples of ‘environmental’ songs with some Kiwi artists thrown in there as well; plus it's time we start writing and collaborating so bring your writing medium of choice! We’ll also make time for some musicians to share what they are working on :)

Hosted by Ema Barton and Edwin Judd with Holding Space Aotearoa.

Songwriters 4 Climate Action is a project intended to bring together community-based performers through a series of workshops and activities; to help support and inspire them to write or develop songs that highlight the challenges and hopes for climate action. Our aim is to work towards a live performance and record songs / videos (to a professional standard) that we can share on multiple platforms to help spread awareness and positivity around low carbon climate action. Through this process we hope to build a supportive music community and learn a thing or two along the way.

There is limited space, so please RSVP or message Ema on 0212322593 so we can get an idea of numbers.

Special thanks to Dr Grant Hewison, Waitematā Low Carbon Network &
Waitematā Local Board for supporting this project.
