Join us for an evening of visually compelling and award-winning short films from Portugal.
About this Event: Show Me Shorts and the Embassy of Portugal present a night of visually compelling and award-winning short films from up and coming Portuguese filmmakers.
There are six short films by top Portuguese filmmakers:
Cães que Ladram aos Pássaros (Dogs Barking at Birds) directed by Leonor Teles
Entre Sombras (Between The Shadows) directed by Alice Guimarães and Mónica Santos
Sagrada Família (Holy Family) directed by Margarida Lucas
Viagem A Cabo Verde (Journey To Cape Verde) directed by José Miguel Ribeiro
A Brief History of Princess X directed by Gabriel Abrantes
Fado Lusitano directed by Abi Feijó
This is an informal and fun event, and all are welcome. The screening takes place in the Southern Cross Garden Bar. All films screen in the Portuguese language with English subtitles. Run time is approx 85-minutes. No allocated seating, so first in best dressed. The bar will be open with food and drink available for purchase.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, just your name and email confirmation is fine.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Pay and display car parking is available on Abel Smith Street and Cuba Street. Two-hour maximum. There is a car parking building located nearby on Marion Street.
The Cross is both wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with disabled bathrooms and baby change tables in both the Men's and Women's bathrooms.
Will there be door sales?
Previous events have sold out online before the night so it is recommended to pre-book. If online sales do not sell out there may be limited door sales. Door sales are cash only.
