The RNZAF Jazz Orchestra is one of the most electrifying big bands in the country, featuring a line-up of top jazz professionals from Wellington’s thriving music scene. The musical focus of the group is the tradition of swing and improvisation as well as fostering compositional talent from within its membership. This 17-piece big band will perform works by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, John Coltrane, Thad Jones, and others, as well as newly-composed pieces by members of the band themselves. After performing to two full houses at the Wellington Jazz Festival, the RNZAF Jazz Orchestra is thrilled to be back in action!
