Saxophonist Zoe Ioannou leads a new sextet, made up of some of the top versatile jazz musicians in Wellington. The ensemble will be playing a mix of classic jazz standards, original compositions and modern jazz arrangements. Joining Zoe are her good friends and collaborators:

Peter Brzozowski (trumpet),

John Rae (drums).
About Zoe:
Zoe Ioannou is a New Zealand born-Greek saxophonist. She has spent half her life in New Zealand and the other half in Greece where she has built a profile of work in both countries. Such highlights of her musical career includes performing at the Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival, Athens Blues and Jazz Festival having a residency with the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra, and performing at the Wellington Jazz Festival. Currently studying jazz at the New Zealand School of Music, she has a deep appreciation for all music and sounds, and her original work and music projects are a reflection of her and the world around her. Outside of performing and composing, she has been a radio announcer for the BBC, and currently works as a DJ for RadioActive.FM in Wellington, Radio New Zealand, and the NTS network based in the UK and US.
