The Musica Balkanica Choir was formed in Christchurch in 2004 by a group of Balkan enthusiasts to celebrate and share the rich musical heritage of the Balkan region of Eastern Europe.
The choir’s repertoire includes sacred songs from the Christian Orthodox liturgy, in Old Slavonic, as well as local folk songs in a variety of languages, including Albanian, Bulgarian, Greek, Hungarian, Macedonian, Romanian, Serbian and Slovenian.
For this performance, they joyfully share with you the beauty of chants and songs from Eastern Orthodox traditions.
Entry for this event is by cash koha/donation.
Doors will open at 6.30 pm.
