A family fun day event with something for everyone at Classic Flyers Museum! Entrance includes a dance showcase by KJ Studios, classic cars on display, fire engine rides, kids activities including pedal planes, access to the Legacy Jet Hangar, Restoration Hangar 5, Torpedo Park play area and Avgas Cafe.
To support the RSA, the Starship Foundation and NZ Warbirds, come and see the knitters adding their poppies to the giant poppy and star artwork, take a seat and watch the dance show, explore the exhibits, ride in the fire engine and pedal planes, learn to knit, make a donation and pin a poppy or star to our dresses - help us fill them!
Knitters & crafters are welcome to make poppies and stars and bring them to put on the donation table.
The Poppy Flight is a nationwide project with 34 volunteer pilots each flying a sector on a 4 week itinerary in the run up to ANZAC Day. They will be carrying two large pieces of knitted artwork that will be added to by the locals at the welcome events in each town. These welcome events will be a place where people can come and see what we are doing and why, and children can learn about the charities.
