Three leading art historians come together to unravel themes embedded in Brett Graham's exhibition: Tai Moana Tai Tangata, illustrating different approaches to contemporary art. The panel will be introduced by Dr Zara Stanhope, the Gallery's new director.

Panellists include; Peter Brunt, Associate Professor, Art History at Victoria University of Wellington; Christina Barton, Director of the Adam Art Gallery, Wellington and Anna-Marie White, curator of Tai Moana Tai Tangata.

Peter Brunt is associate professor of art history at Victoria University of Wellington where he teaches the visual arts of the Pacific. He received his PhD from Cornell University and has published in various journals, edited volumes and exhibition catalogues. He is co-editor of Art in Oceania: A New History (2012) and recently co-curated the exhibition Oceania at the Royal Academy of Arts.

Christina Barton is director of Adam Art Gallery Te Pātaka Toi. She is a respected art historian, curator and writer who first worked with Brett Graham when she included him in Art Now, the major survey of sculpture and installation she curated for the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in 1994.

Dr Anna-Marie White (Manukorihi, Te Ātiawa) is a researcher, writer, curator and Strategic Advisor to Toi Māori Aotearoa. She recently completed her doctoral thesis in art history on the artworks of Brett Graham at Victoria University of Wellington (2020).
