Sunita Torrance

A gay-larious night of queer comedy for one night only in New Plymouth as part of Taranaki's inaugural OUTfest.

Lineup includes:
James Malcolm
James Mustapic
Neil D'Bear Thornton
Shannon Gillies
hosted by House of Drag Season 2 winner, Spankie Jackzon!

James Malcolm: The Taylor Swift of New Zealand comedy - because they both write about their ex boyfriends. He is a 2x Billy T Award nominee.

Neil D'Bear Thornton: Soon after taking a comedy class in NYC in 2009, Neil became a regular in New York City comedy clubs and toured throughout the Northeast, with shows in Washington D.C., Provincetown, Fire Island, Philadelphia, and the Poconos. He produced and performed in Funny/Furry/Fierce, which sold out three years in a row at NY's Urban Bear Weekend, and co-organized and performed in MAULED: The Bears of Comedy at Provincetown Bear Week.
Since arriving in New Zealand (for a six-month adventure that turned into permanent residency) he’s made a huge impact, becoming a regular in New Zealand comedy clubs, touring to big cities and tiny hamlets, and appearing in the TV3 comedy special After Hours. His NZ Fringe Festival show Ursus Americanus was nominated for Best Stand-Up, and his NZ International Comedy Festival show Bearly Kiwi was nominated for Best Newcomer. In the last few years, he’s headlined sold-out gigs for New Zealand Bear Week, Christchurch Bear Week, Gay Ski Week, and the Wellington Pride Festival.

James Mustapic: (Known for his web series’ Shorty Street Scandal and Repressed Memories) has a satirical, dry style and makes cutting observations which come in surprising contrast to his soft spoken presence. Known for sharing stories of people who have done him wrong over the years, he enjoys candidly expressing his emotions in a self-deprecating manner.

Shannon Gillies: Stand up comedian who loves to talk about sheep, her family, how she fights children and how people who claim to have an allergy to coriander are indeed the worst people. Views expressed on the page or in a set are sometimes only genuinely my views.
