Oscar LaDell is an American-born blues singer, guitarist, and harmonica player. Chris Armour is a guitarist and producer from Pōneke. Right Kinda Wrong finds the two collaborating for the first time on an album packed with explosive '50s & '60s inspired electric blues. Driven by Richard Te One (drums) and Steve Moodie (bass), the album drips with greasy grooves and captures the vintage sound of classic Chess and Excello Records artists.

On Friday at Jack Hackett's the band will be joined by Wellington veteran Wayne Mason & The Superheaters, a Wellington-based outfit who, in collaboration with an equally accomplished band, bring a distinctly personal and unaffected take on American roots music by mixing blues, early rock’n’roll, country and New Orleans second line into a melting pot and working it down to a fine gravy. 50’s rhythm & blues, early rock’n’roll, chicken skin music that swings.
