Opera North 'Silver Linings'

Opera North is delighted to present ‘Silver Linings’ – 2021 being our 25th anniversary.
Our patrons will miss the annual Opera in the Garden, but during these uncertain times, Opera North has decided to stage the special 25th anniversary show in Forum North’s Capitaine Bougainville Theatre.

The programme for ‘Silver Linings - Celebrating 25 years of Opera North’ will showcase Opera North’s talented vocalists, accompanied this year by talented musicians under the baton of Musical Directors Emma Couper and Roger McClean.

The programme includes songs ranging from the popular operatic chorus of Carmina Burana, La Traviata, through to Mozart and Bizet in the first half. The second half features a broad range of music from well-known composers such as Freddie Mercury (Queen) and Andrew Lloyd Webber, some beautiful local and not so local folk songs, African gospel, and hilarious musical theatre numbers. There will be some special surprises for our audience - it will be an unforgettable event.
