Highlights include the Big School – the Christ’s College library – which was built in 1863 and is the oldest educational building still in use in New Zealand; the Memorial Dining Hall, atmospheric and reminiscent of medieval manor halls and the Hare Memorial Library, a colourful combination of Arts & Crafts, Gothic Revival and Tudor styles.

Meeting Point: Front gate. Tours depart every 30 mins.

Publicly accessible restrooms, wheelchair/walking aid/pram accessible, service animals allowed, assistive listening devices, child friendly.

Join Open Christchurch on 15 & 16 May. With 46 open buildings, two guided central city walks and dozens of special activities (from children’s workshops to performance as well as expert talks and tours), Open Christchurch 2021 is a celebration of our architecture.
