Aaron Scythe, Georgia Barber and Tsubaki Scythe bring you this exhibition celebrating a Japanese aesthetic using ceramics and printmaking. Aaron and Georgia share a passion for the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi - repairing something broken to make a new piece more beautiful than the last. Aaron's contemporary take on the yobitsugi style of kintsugi repair involves the use of replacement shards as he swaps stoneware sections for porcelain and vice versa to create his exuberant surfaces. Accompanying his ceramics will be a series of his limited edition prints. Georgia Barber cuts up and collages her linocut designs to make Ikebana style arrangements with wonky vases and fantasy flora. Tsubaki draws on her Japanese and Kiwi heritage in the creation of intricate drypoint prints that feature stories from mythology.
