a Thursday Noise Situation; on the 18th of March, at the darkroom, welcome back Nicolas Woollaston and Subatomic Therapy. Introducing the guitar annoying sounds of Earplug.
Nicolas Woollaston:
Please come and witness another investment in the sounds of love and hate. Contours of wood, sinews of steel, quiet splinters pierce, provide the excuse for tears. Raise your glass to what has been and listen to what might be to come. Raise your glass to what is to come and listen to what might have been.
Subatomic Therapy is another creative venture undertaken by West Yorkshire born L.R.Scott. Initially, a visual project it soon became clear that sound should enter the fold with Manipulated acoustic instruments, monophonic synthesis, 6 string electric guitar as well as field recordings from recent and not so recent travels. Certain features become drawn out with the aid of digital delay and reverberation amongst other sound manipulation devices.
Earplug: Three guitars sharing two amplifiers (tricky to explain in the text without yabbering on); two guitars being heavily damaged live in a number of ways with loops of destruction and continual feedback/droning coming from the 'shared' middle gat. Butterflies may eventuate within; whether spritely and colourful or dark and dilapidated is purely up to a listener's endochronic alignment.
