New School Relics - Weekend Residency with Joseph Rowntree

Joseph Rowntree is an emerging artist from Hawke’s Bay who is fast gaining a reputation for his use of repurposed windows as an alternative canvas. Friday the 21st of May to Sunday the 23rd of May, you can come along and see Joseph Rowntree paint, in his weekend residency at Creative Arts Napier.

After winning the 2020 ‘CANdid-50’ People’s Choice Award, Joseph was presented with a 2021 complimentary two week exhibition in the CAN Small Gallery. Rowntree’s resulting exhibition ‘New School Relics’ on display for 3 weeks, is a collection of studio works reflecting Joseph’s exploration of ‘post-British empire’ life in Aotearoa.

This is a free event for all ages.
