Napier Libraries is bringing the StoryWalk® Project to Napier for the very first time! It's an innovative way for tamariki, whānau and friends to read, get active and take in the beauty of Napier all at the same time, in a COVID-smart way. Our StoryWalk® will be available from Saturday, 18 December to Saturday, 29 January 2022, highlighting books based on New Zealand native birds.
How does it work?
It's simple! Go to the locations listed below and follow the arrows to read the featured books. When you finish a book, you can scan the QR code to enter the prize draw—there are loads of prizes up for grabs, including family passes to local attractions, books, book vouchers and more.
Locations:
- Marine Parade: Along the Rotary Path behind Par2 Mini Golf to the Tom Parker Fountain.
- Taradale Park: Walkway from Taradale Library, towards Taradale Kindy and back to the library.
- Maraenui/Marewa Recreational Reserve: Walkway from Nash Street towards Latham Street.
The StoryWalk® project was created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and subsequently developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms.Ferguson.
