This is a Music Production weekend course for women, femmes and non-binary people to learn about making their own electronic music. Get an excellent, thorough foundation in how to make your own original music from scratch, in a supportive learning environment. This welcoming and cohesive introduction will cover the Bass-ics of electronic music production, with 3 expert tutors Paige Julia, Ed Zuccollo and Will Marshall. Join us for this incredible opportunity.

This 2-day course aims to get you started with creating your own electronic music, understanding crucial concepts, how to use music software to edit and write tracks, and feel comfortable in a studio setting using studio tools. On day 1, we'll introduce key music concepts and production knowledge, learn how to manipulate tracks in music software, and do live studio recording. On day 2, we'll progress through deeper sound design, moving through drums, bass and melodies modules, then wrap up with your next steps.

Ultimately, the course purpose is to get more women/femmes making their own original electronic music, so that we change the diversity of who's getting booked as headliners for festivals and gigs. You'll need to put time into making your music after the course, but this is a brilliant, carefully crafted way to begin your journey, which we cannot wait to share with you.

This is a weekend course, running Sat 11 and Sun 12 Dec, both days 10am - 3.15pm. It's important you commit to both days as the content builds across the course.

The tutors are all highly experienced producers, musicians and DJs each with 10 - 20 years experience in the field who have already taught workshops with The Sensonauts.

Big thanks to the New Zealand Music Commission for the fantastic funding. Because of this wonderful help, and the fact we want to remove as many barriers as possible, the ticket fee is the insanely low price of $23, which is a nominal fee to ensure attendees commit to and value the course.

Thanks also to SAE Auckland, and thanks to lead course collaborator and tutor Paige Julia, and tutors Ed Zuccollo and Will Marshall.
