This is a Music Production 1-day follow-up course for women, femmes and non-binary people.

We've laid the foundations for making your own original music from scratch in our Music Production 2 day course in Wellington, July 2021. Now we'll build on those foundations with a specially created follow-up day of learning in a supportive environment. This welcoming and cohesive day will go deeper into the Bass-ics of electronic music production, with 3 expert tutors Paige Julia, Ed Zuccollo and Will Marshall.

We've shaped the course content to cover effective music production workflow to help you build and finish tracks, take a deeper dive into using effects, mixing, common mistakes to avoid, and motivation to keep producing. All the good stuff you need to help you continue on your musical journey!

The overall purpose of these courses is to get more women/femmes making their own original electronic music, so that we change the diversity of who's getting booked as headliners for festivals and gigs. You'll need to keep putting time into making your music, but this is a fantastic in-depth session to help you keep learning more production skills and feeling motivated with your music.

This is a weekend in-person course, running Sat 2 Oct, 10am - 5pm. It's important you commit to the full day.

The tutors are all highly experienced producers, musicians and DJs each with 10 - 20 years experience in the field who have already taught workshops and courses with The Sensonauts.

Course outline: (10am - 5pm)
10am: Intro/welcome to course
10.05am - 12noon: Toolkit Focus with Ed Zuccollo - how, when and why to use effects / using tools to create beautiful results
12.45pm - 2.45pm: Production Workflow with Paige Julia - how to start and finish tracks effectively / finding your flow
3pm: Mixing Your Tracks with Will Marshall - including brief mention of mastering
4pm: Artistic Philosophy with Will Marshall - discipline, consistency, dealing with self-confidence issues, motivation and more
5pm: Wrap up / next steps

Who is this for?
Women, femmes and non-binary people who have either:

- already attended the 2 day Music Production Weekend Course with The Sensonauts in Wellington,
- or have already begun their music production journey and have started using a music production software / digital audio workstation.

Please note this course is not suitable for beginners because we have already covered beginner content such as basic functions and terminology in the 2 day course. If you're a beginner, consider attending the upcoming 2 day course in either Auckland or Christchurch, or wait to see if another 2 day course happens in Wellington in 2022.

I have more questions... please read the FAQs on our website.

Big thanks to the New Zealand Music Commission for the fantastic funding for this course. Because of this wonderful help, and the fact we want to remove as many barriers as possible, the ticket fee is the extremely low price of $13 + $2 booking fee, which is a nominal fee to ensure attendees commit to and value the course.

Thanks also to Sandbox Studio and two/fiftyseven for helping enable this course, lead course collaborator and tutor Paige Julia, and tutors Ed Zuccollo and Will Marshall.

If we are in level 3 or 4 lockdown at the time, we will run the course online. If we are in level 1 or 2, the course happens in person with sign-ins, distancing and sanitising as needed.
