An exhibition of works by distinguished New Zealand artist Melvin Day CNZM (1923-2016) from the collection of the Oroya & Melvin Day Charitable Trust.
The proceeds from all artworks sold will contribute to funding grants to the New Zealand fine arts and heritage sectors, including Katherine Mansfield House & Garden and the Day Postgraduate Scholarship for international postgraduate study in Art History (awarded annually in partnership with Victoria University of Wellington).
Oroya Day MBE (1931-2014) founded the Katherine Mansfield Birthplace Society and was the driving force behind the purchase, restoration and opening of Katherine Mansfield House & Garden to the public. Her husband Melvin was also a key supporter, so we are pleased to continue the strong relationship between the house and the Days through the Trust.
Exhibition included in admission to the house. If you'd like to visit the exhibition only, please let staff know and admission will be waived.
