The Marlborough Biodiversity Forum aims to provide a platform for community groups, landowners, iwi, youth and agencies to network, support and learn with each other to grow conservation in Marlborough.
The forum's theme is Kaitiakitanga o te Taio | Caring for the natural world. We will discuss how biodiversity work is viewed through different lenses, starting with a regional roundup and allowing time for questions and discussions between the presentations of the day.
Presentations delivered throughout the day:
- Urban Ecology and Conservation - Colin Meurk (ONZM, University of Canterbury and University of Lincoln)
- Farm Biodiversity Management Plans - James Lambie (Ecological Consultant)
- Kea Research and Conservation - Laura Young (Kea Conservation Trust)
- Te Ātiawa Kaitiakitanga in the Sounds Rohe | the Māori Perspective - Ian Shapcott (Te Ātiawa Trust)
Morning and afternoon tea provided, BYO lunch.
