Leabank Park Mural Celebration

We invite you to celebrate the new mural at Leabank Park.

There will be league games happening in the park alongside the blessing of the mural and a free sausage sizzle.

The mural was sponsored by Auckland Council, as a way of preventing graffiti in the park and reflecting the local community to inspire civic pride. The design and concept for the mural was imagined by communities. Our Manurewa-based artist, Rangi Matthews, has incorporated the Marlins Club colours, V shape of the jersey, key words suggested by local people as well as kowhaiwhai patterns that represent the club and the community.

Thank you to Rangi Matthews for the amazing mural, to those people who provided input into the design, to Matua Rangi McLean, Manurewa Local Board Member for blessing the mural and to Manurewa Rugby League Football & Sports Club and Auckland Council for your support.
