Recent artworks with contemplation of Water-Wai.

Ourselves or our ancestors - O Tatou Tipuna, journeyed over it, to begin anew. Setting eyes upon it above, calling it "The Land of the Long White Cloud" - Aotearoa. In water's many forms, we would be but dust and ashes without and our given breath.

Cleansing, purity, physically and spiritually. Used as Metaphors of troublesome times, even enemies, deliverance, salvation, eternal life. Its own musical language. Love. Puts out fires. Water can be bitter, can be sweet, heavy and light. Transparent and reflects, hides and uncovers. Plentiful, yet scarce. Longed for. Searched for.

In states of vapour, liquid and solid, walked and floated upon, passed through and passes through, healing and refreshing. Hot, warm or cold. Sprinkled and immersed in. Carries and is carried. Still and swift. Magnifies and shrinks. Divides and blends, dissolves and crystallises. Carves and polishes.

There on other planets, their moons and comet tails. Shed in emotion as tears, even by the Creator for us. Burden bearing. Divine and not. It roams skies as mist, as clouds, as ice, comes down as gentle showers, rain, hail and snow. And wells up beneath our feet or settles as morning dew.

Before we were, it was. Molecules of ancient existence kept... it was there on the first page, there on the last, made new. the wonder of it all... Hallelujah - Areruia!!
