Parker (27–2, 21 KO) is set to face domestic rival Junior Fa on Feb. 27 in New Zealand, which will stream live on DAZN, and that’s a big fight for him, something that will be a major event for boxing in the country. There’s a lot of pride on the line there, and obviously nobody wants to lose if they want a bigger international bout next. But Chisora (32–10, 23 KO) is still talking about doing a fight with Parker, and Parker’s manager David Higgins tells Sky Sports that is could definitely be in play for early summer:

Parker and Fa were both Amateur Champions who fought four times, for two wins each; and now they settle their score as Professional Boxers. The winner will advance further in the rankings towards a world title shot, whilst the loser will have to rebuild his career. With both Parker and Fa in their prime, this battle of epic proportions will be broadcast to the world. Nothing beats being there live. Join us at this historic occasion.

Joseph Parker fights Junior Fa on December 11 in Auckland in a battle between New Zealand’s two top heavyweights. Former world champion Parker and his long-time rival Fa will finally settle a rivalry that saw them fight four times as an amateur, winning twice each.

“This is going to be war,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “We’re looking forward to co-promoting our first event in New Zealand with David Higgins and Duco. There’s plenty of needle with the amateur rivalry and there’s national pride at stake. A win over Fa will catapult Joe back into world title contention.”

“Given the challenges facing major sporting events around the globe right now, getting this fight over the line is absolutely huge, and we are grateful to our partners Matchroom for their backing to make this happen,” said Parker’s manager and Duco’s founder and director David Higgins.

A new date has been confirmed for the blockbuster showdown between Joseph Parker and Junior Fa, with the world-ranked Kiwi heavyweights set to clash at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday, February 27. Previously scheduled for December, the bout was postponed after blood tests revealed Fa was suffering from a health issue that required the 19–0 undefeated prospect to undergo surgery.

The official event doctor appointed for the fight, Dr Dave Renata, confirmed Fa would recover in time. “Junior’s surgery was a success and he is well and truly on track to be fully fit and in very good health for the rescheduled date on February 27,” Renata said.
