Jacqueline ‘Rock’ Bublitz is a writer, feminist and arachnophobe who splits her time between Melbourne and her hometown New Plymouth. She wrote her début novel Before You Knew My Name after spending a summer in New York, where she hung around morgues and the dark corners of city parks (and the human psyche) far too often.
With her first novel a bestseller in both Australia and New Zealand and optioned for film, Jacqueline is now working on her second, where she continues to explore the grand themes of love, loss and connection. At QWF she'll discuss with local teacher Chris Fitzpatrick her writing process, including plot development. And no doubt she will explain what it's like to be a first-time novelist hesitantly submitting your manuscript to multiple publishers, only to have them fighting over it.
