Island Bay Festival - Day in the Bay

This event is part of an annual community festival which has run in Island Bay for many years. As in previous years Day in the Bay features a market, lots of food, rides and amusements, music, the Blessing of the Boats, the Swim from the Island, and perhaps more. The exact details are still being confirmed, and further information, along with any other updates, will be posted on the Festival website and Facebook page closer to the dates.

As usual the Festival Parade and Variety Show will be on the afternoon of the Saturday immediately before Day in the Bay (Feb 13th).

Since attendance numbers can be large Festival events are dependent on Wellington being in lockdown level 1 at the time.

Festival events are supported by the Wellington City Council and Island Bay New World. Attendance is free, but there are cash charges for the rides. Please note that there are no cash out facilities available at Shorland Park, so you should bring some money with you. Most stalls will take EFTPOS.
