Young artists will have the opportunity to excel before a panel of international judges.

The Competition aims to bring together the country’s top young players and foster their growth through significant professional development opportunities. The top three performers in each of four age groups will receive prizes and access to training with some of the world’s best teachers.

Competition success opens doors: for aspiring professional musicians anywhere in the world, this is a bedrock truth. But to flourish once you step through those doors, you need an enduring commitment to musical growth. Our goal is to give highly talented young players the recognition they deserve allowing them to test their abilities in front of an audience and a panel of judges. They can also receive invaluable feedback as well as compare themselves to other musicians.

Attractive prizes, such as, showcase concerts, and masterclasses will help to further develop careers.

For 2020/21, due to the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, the NZYouMusiC competition will be entirely online, with the final round being screened in front of an adjudicating panel and a live audience.

The Overall Winner gets an invitation as a soloist with the Auckland Youth Orchestra with free accommodation and travel support

The due date for first-round recordings is 14 December 2020, 11:59pm NZST
