The event will be a get together for motorbike lovers, with the screening of the International Jampot Rally 2020 in NZ, talks with organiser Murray McLean film director Peter Blasdale and more.

The International Jampot is a documentary film about the second and possibly last Classic AJS and Matchless Motorcycle Rally throughout the New Zealand South Island.

The rally was organised by Murray McLean during summer 2020 and finished just before lockdown. A great breadth of 30 Kiwi characters and 17 International AJS/Matchless club enthusiasts ride through exquisite scenery reaching the Burt Munroe Challenge, and back to the Top of the South. It captures the second International Rally in 20 years, ending in Tahunanui Beach.

Peter Blasdale (based in Nelson) directed the film, all riding over 2000km on classic vintage motorcycles throughout the ups and downs of a joyful adventure.

The event includes talks from organiser Murray McLean, Q&A with Peter Blasdale, (director/ producer, editor) Barry Sangster (sound/ cinematography), John Heard & Geert Hermsen ( music) and the screening of the documentary.

The film premiered in Golden Bay with a huge success in May 2020 and was selected for The Toronto Motorbike Film Festival, the Franklin Festival, the shorter version was awarded at the All Shorts Film Festival and the Top of the South Film Festival 2020.

Peter Blasdeale received the Aaron Falvey Filmmaker of the Year Award 2020.

Tickets will be available from Tuesday 29th December at the State Cinema Nelson and their online booking site.

This is a rare opportunity to combine the NZ Classic Motorshow on the same weekend, enjoy the screening of this unique documentary, and meet the incredible people behind this journey.

Welcome, 2021 in good company!
