This is the last event in our free series of talks on The Greek War of Independence.

It will follow a different format to the preceding talks as there are two events in one and not a talk presentation.

The first part of the evening will start at 6 pm, Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary next door to the Greek Community Centre. During the service, the Byzantine Ti Ipermaho Stratigo Hymn to the Holy Theotokos, which was a rallying cry in 1821. You are encouraged to attend.

The second part of the evening will start at 7.15 pm but you must be in the Greek Community Centre (top floor, AV room) by 7 pm at the latest as the doors on the ground floor will be closed from 7 pm onwards.

If you are also attending the church service, you may need to leave early to be in the Greek Community Centre by 7 pm.

A screening of 1821 documentary (with English subtitles) will then begin at 7.15 pm, introduced by HNZC Committee member, Spiros Kappatos. It is 1 hour long so expected to finish at 8.15 pm.
