This workshop focuses on empowering girls and young women to connect with their physical health. This nature walk is medium difficulty, which encourages participants to push themselves but is still achievable.
When we push through and achieve a physical task it demonstrates that participants can push through many tasks and obstacles in life, not just physical. Sometimes we need those reminders of how string we really are.
Taking place in Taraoa (Peel forest) participants will also learn about the area and legends that teach us the significance of the maunga (mountains) there.
Gear required. Participants will need to bring their own:
- walking shoes and spare socks (shoes will get wet)
- warm jacket
- appropriate clothing for walking in the bush
- water bottle
- packed lunch
- backpack to carry their gear in
If participants require medication (asthma inhalers, hay fever antihistamines etc) please bring them as well.
Drop off & pick up point is the Aorangi Stadium carpark. Participants will be taken to Peel forest via a rental van with a fully licensed driver.
If you have any further questions please email Director, Sofia Tuala on warriorprincessworkshops@outlook.com.
